Get involved
If you would you like to become a Landcare volunteer, register your interest. There are a number of options for volunteering:
Join an existing Landcare group
View our existing groups to see if there is a group working near you that you can join.
Our case studies and Landcare site videos provide more information on the kinds of sites and projects Landcare groups are involved in. You can also view our recent newsletters which show you what our current volunteers have been up to.
Start your own Landcare group
If there is not an existing group on a Council-managed reserve or area of bushland that you would like to help restore, please contact Lake Macquarie Landcare on 02 4921 0392 or [email protected] to discuss the potential to start a new Landcare Group. Following a site visit to look at what regeneration works can be done, staff from Lake Macquarie Landcare will guide you through the process of forming a Landcare group. New groups need their site approved by the Landholder, and Agreed Action Plan established and someone to complete a short Team Leader Training session before they can get underway. Once registered, your group will have access to a range of resources to help.
