August Super Saturday Session

Weed Detector Dogs

Have you heard of the weed detection dogs, Henry and Daisy? You can watch them demonstrate the power of their noses at a Super Saturday Session hosted by Lake Macquarie Landcare on 17 August.

The morning will start at the Tiny Forest, planted over a year ago, near the Landcare and Sustainable Living Centre, where Anna Noon will explain the benefits of these urban wildlife pockets. Moving onto the grassed area Bradley Shultz, accompanied by Naiomi Finlayson and Jay Van Den Broek from Indago Environmental with their conservation detection dogs Henry and Daisy, will be telling you all about the important work they do in detecting priority weeds. Returning to the centre for morning tea, we’ll conclude with a talk by the ever-knowledgeable Maree McCarthy - an ecologist and native landscaper. This is truly a SUPER Saturday Session you don’t want to miss!
